This Zuņi Velvet
Shirt Kachina is from my own private collection. It represents a period
of time during the late 1930's and 1940's, when the Zuni dressed their
Kachina Dolls in elaborate costume comprised of real materials. Less
reliance was placed on painting the costumes onto the figures. I have
painted this doll a few times, and will surely paint it several more
times, from different angles, and different light.
