Those last two images are for the past two nights. I've been fighting computer problems. One of my backup hard drives somehow became scrambled. It appears to be in an entirely new language, and nothing is accessible. Traditional rawhide boot, almost more like a stocking, which enables the Gaucho to grip the stirrup with his toes, rather than jamming his foot full into the stirrup, against the heel. The heel, here, consists of a slightly thicker piece of leather. This is but one of thousands of masks in the Rafael Colonel Museum in Zacatecas, Mexico. I can't wait to get back to making paintings based on these masks. I finally got in four or five hours of Charreada shooting yesterday and last night, after a day spent chasing hotels, internet connections, etc.
Lots of good shots, but Zacatecas' Lienzo de Charro, or Rodeo Stadium, turns out to be a difficult place to photograph in.
