Well, fall is almost over, and winter's on the way. I missed most of the best of the color this year, as I was in Mexico. But I did catch this leaf from the vine on my portal, and thought I'd share it, to keep the memory of autumn alive a little longer.

Cloud and Two Tipis, Taos

While photographing beautiful, towering cloud formations on a drive from Taos to Santa Fe this past summer, I realized that these two tipis would serve perfectly to frame and complement this especially fine thunderhead.

Thea and I took a "day off" on Tuesday, the first in a long time, and drove from Santa Fe to Jemez, then on around, through Los Alamos and back to Santa Fe. Along the way, we spotted these lovely ladies. Although it's hunting season, and we could hear gunshots from the next ridge, these two didn't seem especially wary.
