WAGON BONES
© John Farnsworth 2007

This old wagon might have carried a Navajo family from Tsaile to a Firedance beneath the Lukachukai Escarpment in Arizona's Four Corners Country on the Navajo Reservation. Or it might have carried a young bride from her home in Talpa to Sunday Mass at the Church of Saint Francis  in Ranchos de Taos. It could have carried crops from La Cienega along the old Camino Real into the market in Santa Fe. Now, decorating the foreyard of a gallery in Santa Fe, it serves as its own gravestone while sinking imperceptibly into the earth.
