This is a
representation of a Cow Kachina, one of the many Kachinas who dwell high
atop the San Francisco Peaks in Northern Arizona. Dancing and chanting,
the Kachinas visit the Hopi Villages during the first half of the year,
bringing blessings and carrying away gifts and prayers for fertility and
rain.. The name Wakas comes from the Spanish,
Vacas, or cows.
